Quality Assurance Co-Ordinator

Sanford Limited is a long established, well known and highly respected seafood processing company. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of New Zealand’s leading food companies. Sanford Limited is seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and vibrant candidate to join our Quality Management Team.
A vacancy exists in our Christchurch mussel processing operation for a Quality Assurance Co-ordinator to play an integral part in the management, development and monitoring of Quality and Food Safety Compliance Systems. Reporting to the Sanford Quality Manager, you will be working as part of a team to develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures.
The role requires you to be responsible for ensuring that the Food Safety and Product Quality is completed in a timely and accurate manner and meets customer and regulatory export requirements. You will work as an integral link between Production, R&D, Compliance, Logistics, and Marketing.
You will have strong communication skills, and be able to implement and train production staff in new procedures. You need to be dynamic with the ability to prioritise, multitask, be self motivated and highly organised.
Ideally you will be be tertiary qualified in science or food technology, with experience in a food manufacturing environment dealing with high risk products. You will have several years QC/QA experience in a manufacturing environment in either seafood or a related food industry.

NIGHTSHIFT FACTORY TEAM LEADER

Sanford a market leader in the NZ fishing industry presently has a vacancy for a Team Leader on our nightshift fish reception team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a small team (12 - 16 staff), be well organised and be able to pay attention to detail.
Food Industry experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. People management, planning and delegation skills are very important for this position. Some computer work is also required
The nightshift works Sunday to Thursday; this is a waged position and the successful candidate will be expected to work additional hours on busy nights.

Deck Hands Required -For Deepwater Freezer Trawlers

Qualifications: ADH-F or NZOW is preferred but we will be considering an applicant if they are able to demonstrate their capability with previous vessel experience.
Good Knowledge of the following is required:
· shoot and haul nets
· operate winches
· process and pack fish
· mend nets and lines
· splice ropes and wires
